WTFNIX is an anonymizing appliance ( Virtual Box VM in .ova format). All Traffic is isolated and routed via TOR/I2P. It’s based on the latest Ubuntu 18.04.4 Server 64bit. I2P and TOR are the most current versions and built from source with some minute patches. WTFNIX is licensed under the WTFPL

The only thing you need to adjust is the Virtual Box Networks settings and configurations:

  • The “NatNetwork” is for outgoing access to the internet
  • Set your VirtualBox NAT-Network “NatNetwork” to 192.168.192.0/24 ( NO DHCP ! )
  • Your VirtualBox will be operating with 192.168.192.1 as the internet gateway for WTFNIX
  • The Adapter 1 ( NAT-Network “NatNework” ) of the WTFNIX appliance will be operating on 192.168.192.4
  • The Adapter 2 ( Internal Network “Wtfnix” ) of the WTFNIX appliance will be operating on 10.152.152.20
  • The IP 10.152.152.20/18 is the Gateway for all anonymized traffic
  • You can use any other VirtualBox Machine on the network Wtfnix with any IP above 10.152.152.20/18

You can access the following services on the appliance:

  • TOR Socks Proxy -> 10.152.152.20:9050
  • I2P Socks Proxy -> 10.152.152.20:4447
  • I2P HTTP Proxy -> 10.152.152.20:4444
  • I2P I2CP -> 10.152.152.20:7654
  • I2P IRC Relay -> 10.152.152.20:6668
  • DNS ( via TOR ) -> 10.152.152.20:53
  • IPv4 Gateway (via TOR - only TCP ) -> 10.152.152.20

Ubuntu 18.04.4:

  • The root user has no password
  • Locales are English US
  • Keyboard is English US
  • Timezone is UTC
  • After the initial start / rebooting - it takes 20 minutes for all services to be available
  • apt operates via the TOR Socks proxy

Specs:

  • WTFNIX VM - 2 CPU
  • WTFNIX VM - 1,5 GB RAM
  • WTFNIX VM - 11 GB HDD

If you run p2p apps ( many tor circuits + i2p tunnels ) you need to increase the CPU + RAM ressources
