If you use irc2p you will most likely experience frequent disconnects. This is most likely caused by the i2p network and how it handles data flow. To mitigate this you can increase timeout values of your irc client.

In hexchat you can do this by running the following line within hexchat:

/set net_ping_timeout 600

This will increase the time it takes for the irc client to disconnect to 10 minutes.
